Engineered bacteria to report gut function: technologies and implementation
نویسندگان
چکیده
Advances in synthetic biology and microbiology have enabled the creation of engineered bacteria which can sense report on intracellular extracellular signals. When deployed vivo these whole-cell bacterial biosensors act as sentinels to monitor biomolecules interest human health disease settings. This is particularly interesting context gut microbiota, interacts extensively with host throughout time transit be accessed from feces without requiring invasive collection. Leveraging rational engineering approaches for genetic circuits well an expanding catalog disease-associated biomarkers, non-invasive easy-to-monitor reporters gut. Here, we summarize recent applied animal models then highlight promising technologies designing next generation biosensors.

Contribution of Gut Bacteria to Liver Pathobiology
Emerging evidence suggests a strong interaction between the gut microbiota and health and disease. The interactions of the gut microbiota and the liver have only recently been investigated in detail. Receiving approximately 70% of its blood supply from the intestinal venous outflow, the liver represents the first line of defense against gut-derived antigens and is equipped with a broad array of...
متن کاملGut Bacteria and Breast Health
The incidence of breast cancer is increasing world-wide. According to the American Cancer Society, in 2009 there were 192,370 new cases of invasive breast cancer and 40,170 deaths from breast cancer in the United States. Currently, breast cancer in women is the second most common type of cancer and the risk of a woman having invasive breast cancer some time during her life is approximately 1 in...
متن کاملGut Bacteria and Melamine Toxicity
Melamine and its potential toxicity have drawn increased attention since a 2008 crisis in China in which milk, infant formula, and other foods were illegally laced with the chemical in order to increase their apparent protein content. That contamination affected an estimated 294,000 infants and children, with more than 50,000 hospitalizations and at least 6 deaths. In a new analysis of specific...
متن کاملP 119: Role of Gut Bacteria on Alzheimer’s Disease
Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disease that is the most common type of dementia.AD includes 60_80% of dementia and most people with AD have more than 65 years old.AD causes losing neuronal activity by abnormal proteins. Plaques of beta-amyloid and tangles of “tau” protein can lead to AD. Recently evidence has found that AD may come from outside of central nerv...
متن کاملcompactifications and function spaces on weighted semigruops
chapter one is devoted to a moderate discussion on preliminaries, according to our requirements. chapter two which is based on our work in (24) is devoted introducting weighted semigroups (s, w), and studying some famous function spaces on them, especially the relations between go (s, w) and other function speces are invesigated. in fact this chapter is a complement to (32). one of the main fea...
